Project Navya Amba Shakti

Strengthening Women, Rebuilding Communities

Why Navya Amba Shakti?

At the heart of every thriving community is a woman who feels strong, independent, and supported. Navya Amba Shakti is our initiative to make that possible for women from underserved backgrounds.

This program is designed by the Amba Dalmia Foundation Trust with a simple goal: to give women the tools they need to stand tall. Many of these women are survivors— of violence, loss, or neglect. Some come from our Project Saahas mental health program. All of them carry stories of quiet strength.

Through Navya Amba Shakti, we meet them where they are and walk with them toward better possibilities. Whether it's learning a new skill, starting tailoring work, home kitchen, or understanding the basics of self-care, we make sure no one is left behind.

This is not just training. This is transformation— growing confidence, rebuilding identity, and creating space for hope.

Our Approach

Empowerment cannot be rushed. It takes trust, time, and the right support. Our approach to Navya Amba Shakti focuses on small, steady changes in the lives of women. We work across six key areas:

Sutradharini

Cutting & Tailoring Skills

Sutradharini is a skill-based training program that trains women in tailoring, stitching, and sustainable crafts. The program is designed for creative women who need a fresh start. The women enrolled in this program are either survivors of tough circumstances or come from communities where opportunities are scarce. Through Sutradharini, they learn how to use a sewing machine, take measurements, and create clothing or utility items. Many go on to stitch for local boutiques, run home-based services, or take small tailoring orders. They begin to weave a new sense of purpose and confidence with every seam they stitch. We take pride in our survivors because It’s not just about making clothes, it’s about making a future.

Sundar Sakhi

Beauty and wellness training program

Sundar Sakhi is a hands-on beauty and wellness training program. This program trains women basic parlour skills such as threading, waxing, facials, and hairstyling. Sundar Sakhi sessions are designed to be practical, simple, and easy to grasp. Women get to work with real tools and clients in a safe environment. After training, many of them start earning by working at parlours or even opening small setups at home. For many, it’s their first step toward building a career. This course not only equips them with employable skills but also builds their confidence to walk into any room with pride.

SuShakti

Digital & Financial Literacy

SuShakti is focused on financial independence. We help women understand the basics of managing money, saving wisely, and exploring small-scale entrepreneurship through this program. We believe in growing together, so we encourage the formation of self-help groups (SHGs) where women pool in savings, give small loans, and support each other’s ventures. Some start tailoring services, some run small food stalls, and others take up beauty services. With SuShakti, we plant the seed of self-reliance—so they no longer wait for help, but create solutions for themselves and others around them.

RasoiSaheli

Home kitchen and nutrient food preparation basics

RasoiSaheli is about reviving the dignity and power of a home kitchen. In this initiative, women learn how to cook budget-friendly nutritious meals, not just for their families, but also for potential customers. The meals which can help them earn. We teach them basics of hygiene, presentation, and food handling. Many of them begin to take food orders or start tiffin services from their homes. Some explore setting up small carts or community kitchens. The kitchen becomes more than a daily routine; it becomes a source of income and pride.

Saamarthya

Overall Personality development

Every woman has the potential to lead. Saamarthya is designed to build inner strength, self-belief, and soft skills in the women we support. We conduct personality development workshops that focus on communication, body language, time management, and setting personal goals. It’s a space where women reflect, speak up, and realise their voice matters. They begin to carry themselves differently. They become role models in their families and neighbourhoods—not by force, but by growing into it naturally.

SwasthyaSaheli

Periodic Awareness sessions on Health & Hygeine

Good health is the foundation of everything else. SwasthyaSaheli holds regular awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene, nutrition, and basic health practices. Many women have grown up without access to such information. We use simple language, relatable examples, and open discussions to remove stigma and answer questions. The idea is to make women's health talk a normal part of life. A woman can take better care of herself and her family, only when she is able to understand her body in a better way. SwasthyaSaheli helps her do exactly that—with dignity and knowledge.
